Scott Pirrello is the Head of Elder Abuse Prosecutions for the San Diego District Attorney’s Office and has been a prosecutor for 19 years. Scott has spent his career in the Family Protection Division prosecuting family violence cases including Elder Abuse, Domestic Violence, and Child Abuse cases having completed more than 50 Jury Trials. Since 2015 Scott has been leading the Elder Abuse Unit and is nationally recognized for his work in preventing and prosecuting all of the varieties of Elder Abuse. Scott is an expert in Elder Fraud and Scams since being part of the groundbreaking team that created the first of its kind FBI San Diego Elder Justice Task Force (EJTF) and now works with the FBI, US Attorney’s Office, Local LE Agencies, Adult Protective Services and others in San Diego to combat the rising threat of elder financial exploitation by transnational criminal organizations. Scott co-chairs the California District Attorney’s Association (CDAA)’s Elder Abuse Committee and serves on California’s Elder & Disability Justice Coordinating Council (EDJCC).
