Ryan Karkenny is the Project Director of the Computer and Technology Crimes High-Tech Response Team (C.A.T.C.H.). C.A.T.C.H. is a multi-agency task force that was formed in June of 2000 to apprehend and prosecute criminals who use technology to prey on citizens. Ryan has been a Deputy District Attorney with the San Diego County District Attorney's Office since 2009. Over the course of his career Ryan has tried a wide variety of cases including murder, torture, robbery, etc. In addition to specializing in the admission and acquisition of digital evidence, Ryan has received extensive training in the areas of digital forensics and digital evidence presentation and has attended the National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI). Ryan has additional expertise in the area of cybersecurity and also remains up to date with the latest technology including hardware and software advancements, computer programming languages and advancements in computer and networking security, with a focus on mobile devices. Ryan has given lectures to a wide range of audiences from federal agencies to state and local agencies.
