Kate Rosoff joined the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) in 2013 as a crime analyst in the Real Time Crime Center, after earning her Ph.D. in Criminology, Law & Society from the University of California, Irvine. In 2019, Kate joined the Crime Strategies Unit at the Bernalillo County District Attorney's Office, where she began working in the field of digital evidence. In 2021, she rejoined the Albuquerque Police Department at the inception of the Digital Intelligence Team (DIT). DIT is responsible for managing and analyzing all digital evidence at APD, including mobile device extractions, social media, and geolocation information. Kate was promoted in March of 2023 to be the first supervisor of the all-civilian unit, now composed of 11 forensic examiners, two administrators, and two supervisors. The two supervisors, Colette and Kate, have testified over 30 times as an expert witness.
