Derek Eiri

With 18 years of investigations experience, 14 spent in healthcare, Derek Eiri a cybersecurity analyst at a non-profit integrated healthcare system, where he serves as the escalation tier for the Security Operations Center and direct all phases of the incident response lifecycle. Derek also leads the enterprise-wide data collection program for incident response, providing horizontal and vertical visibility to examine, analyze, and objectively report on digital data. Previously, Derek held roles in healthcare compliance, privacy, and information security, where he investigated allegations of policy violations, detected fraud, waste, and abuse, and assessed third-party vendor and technology risk. This included attributing impermissible use, access, and disclosure of patient data to individuals behind the keyboard. Derek holds multiple industry certifications spanning compliance, fraud examination, information security, and digital forensics. Derek volunteers as Secretary for the HTCIA Northern California Chapter, where he helps organize events and education opportunities for the digital forensics and cybersecurity community.
