Daniel Ortiz is a Detective with over 23 years of law enforcement service, currently serving with the East Hartford Police Department and assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division. He is a member of the Connecticut Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and the Center for Digital Investigation (CDI), a 13-town regional computer forensics lab. Detective Ortiz specializes in digital forensics and major crime investigations, leading complex cases involving child exploitation, computer crimes, and mobile device analysis. His work emphasizes interagency collaboration and the use of advanced forensic tools to secure justice for victims. He has presented nationally on these topics, including at the 37th Annual Crimes Against Children Conference in Dallas, TX.
