Abstract Proposal: The presentation focuses on the development of an all-civilian digital evidence team within the police department to support investigations. Attendees will understand how social media platforms, mobile devices, vehicle data, and geolocation data from various sources can be used to support criminal investigations and increase success rates as civilians pull data and conduct analysis while sworn personnel have more time available for other tasks. Attendees will understand the best practices and potential issues related to digital evidence collection, as well as the importance of drafting appropriate search warrants for digital evidence.
