Eugene has been working with Duff & Phelps and now Kroll, specializing in Digital Forensics and Information Security since 2013. Additionally, Eugene was an instructor of “Information Systems Forensics and Investigations” at Sheridan College (Oakville, Ontario) for the Bachelor of Applied Information Computer Science program. Previously, Eugene worked as a network security professional in the financial industry and engaged in freelance privacy and security consulting. Eugene has a broad background in computer science and information security. He believes being a capable generalist is better than a narrow-scoped specialist and takes a holistic approach to investigations and analysis. Eugene has applied expertise in computer forensics and security as well as investigative techniques to discover relevant information for a variety of matters from large collections and preservations to complex matters involving detailed forensic examinations, and security knowledge. He has also worked on numerous cases involving "physical" world investigation and information gathering techniques, which complemented computer forensic analysis. Eugene holds a Master of Arts degree from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Applied Information Sciences (BAISc), Information Systems Security from Sheridan College. He is a member of the Ontario Chapter of the HTCIA and an active member of IACIS. Eugene also enjoys speaking and sharing his knowledge and has presented at a number of professional security and digital forensic conferences and academic institutions. Off the computer Eugene enjoys: astronomy, fly fishing, hiking, bushcraft, primitive skills, and gardening.
