COVID-19 Event Updates

June 1, 2021

Safety Protocols Onsite

With the recent update of the CDC guidelines which both the Marriott Grande Dunes and Techno Security & Digital Forensics Conference will follow regarding COVID-19 safety protocols, each conference participant should be aware of the following variations for this year’s Myrtle Beach event to ensure we are able to return face to face safely.

  • Fully vaccinated individuals (considered fully vaccinated two weeks after second dose in a 2-dose series or 1 dose in a single-dose vaccine) will no longer be required to wear masks indoors. Masks will still be needed indoors for non-vaccinated individuals.
Note that all onsite Techno Security Event Management have been fully vaccinated for your enhanced safety.
  • Wash/sanitize hands often – sanitizer stations will be located in key locations throughout the Marriott.
  • Event Management will be encouraging physical distancing with fewer chairs in the session room sets and in the lunch seating.
  • Lunch buffets will still be in place but all food will be behind plexiglass dividers and Marriott staff will prepare plates as requested by participants.
Note that this year, a lunch time will be printed on all attendee badges to allow for spacing. Attendees need to wait until their allotted time to go to the buffet for service. Sponsor staff may enjoy lunch anytime during the lunch service hours as their schedule and booth traffic allow.
  • There will be increased cleaning on key touchpoints throughout the Marriott.
  • There will be cleaning of AV equipment between each session.

Event Management urges any participant that is not feeling well or experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms to stay home and not travel to the event.

March 1, 2021

On February 26, 2021, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster announced that COVID-19 restrictions related to the sale of alcohol and mass gatherings within the state will be terminated effective Monday, March 1, 2021.

With this news, Techno Security & Digital Forensics Conference re-confirms that we are moving forward with the 22nd edition of the flagship event, scheduled June 6-9 at the Marriott Resort at Grande Dunes.

As COVID-19 will continue to impact the world for the foreseeable future, event management is implementing cleaning and safety guidelines, specific to the Techno event so we can get back to business. These Event Safety Guidelines, coupled with the Marriott Commitment to Clean are to ensure our attendees, sponsors, and vendors that all possible health precautions will be taken, and to grant them the confidence in knowing that their safety is our top priority.

As we look forward to seeing our Techno Security & Digital Forensics Conference community again in 2021, we remain confident that developments, research and information regarding COVID-19 will provide the opportunity to return face to face for the June 6-9 conference in Myrtle Beach.

We want to reassure and reconfirm that our top priority is the health and safety of our attendees, sponsors, staff and vendors. In the coming months event management will continue to work closely with  the event property on upgraded cleaning measures and other necessary protocols for our participants’ well-being, taking into account the recommendations of federal, state and local governments and health authorities.

Onsite, expect to see some changes to ensure we follow appropriate health and safety guidelines. The staff and management of the Marriott at Grande Dunes is working in partnership with Event Management to ensure a safe and successful conference for our cybersecurity & digital forensics community. Marriott International implemented significant new cleaning protocols and shared with us their Commitment to Clean – At a Glance.

As specific details for the event solidify, we will communicate regular updates with our Techno community via email and postings on this page. Until the next update, please stay safe and well, and continue to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended standard preventive actions to stay healthy and help prevent the spread of illness.
