Phillip Comer is a subject matter expert in enterprise security engineering and security operations, specializing in the architecture and deployment of enterprise network and endpoint detection solutions, as well as automated security operations and incident response solutions such as RSA Security Analytics and DLP, McAfee ESM, and Swimlane. Phillip has more than 20 years experience working in various areas of the Information Technology industry.

His current role on a Cloud Security Operations team reporting to the Chief Security Officer (CSO) involves performing IT Security audits, Cloud Security risk assessments, creating security controls assessments, and security compliance tests. Working with internal teams & external auditors to identify gaps in existing security controls and ensuring alignment to industry standards utilizing security frameworks and security controls.

Phillip holds several certifications; CISSP, MCSE+I, PMP, CNA and a few more. He has served in a variety of roles including Project Manager, Technical Team Lead, Application Developer, Application and System Architect, Data Architect, and Business Process Redesign Lead. His technical expertise and experience with multiple vendor technologies gives him unique insight and the ability to leverage his capabilities to support his clients and customers. He is at home in the windowless basement configuring servers and firewalls or speaking to the C-Level and Board of Directors. Phillip has also presented various topics at industry conferences across the country.

Very involved in the IT Industry, he is a member of FBI Infragard where he served as a Deputy Sector Chief, the HTCIA, and the largest user group in the world, the Carolina IT Professionals User Group. Phillip has presented on Information Technology topics at the National Center for Education Research and Technology Conference (NCECT), North Carolina Technology in Education Society Conference (NCTIES), TIA/SEMA, and FBI/Infragard CyberCamp. He is an Alumni of the FBI Citizen's Academy and holds a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance. When not working Phillip can be found outdoors with his family & dogs enjoying nature - but still not too far from a cell signal or a solar charger ;-)
