Melissa Maranville
Dr. Melissa Maranville, PhD, is the Founder and CEO of DeVille and Associates LLC and a forensic investigative consultant, expert witness, researcher, and policy advisor specializing in child sexual exploitation, crimes against women, and human trafficking. She trains law enforcement agencies nationwide and works with multidisciplinary professionals on cases involving sexual violence, trafficking, and technology-facilitated abuse. Her work examines why systems intended to protect the public, including sex offender registries, internet platforms, and technology-based monitoring, often fail to protect victims in practice.
Dr. Maranville’s expertise includes child sexual abuse and exploitation, online grooming, technology-facilitated exploitation and trafficking, sexual violence against women, predator behavior and repeat offending, and the development of investigative, organizational, and legal policies addressing systemic failures in prevention and response. As an expert witness, she provides analysis and testimony in civil and criminal matters involving exploitation, system failures, and institutional accountability.
Her work emphasizes evidence-based reform, institutional accountability, and survivor-centered responses to exploitation and violence.
