A seasoned Cybersecurity professional, Eric has been solving the world's problems for nearly 4 decades, implementing security training programs, teaching threat modeling, designing secure systems, developing talent and building high-performance teams. A breaker by nature, he enjoys the challenge of 'peeling the onion' to dive deep into the guts of the problem and sharing the knowledge. With experience crossing Healthcare, Cloud Security, Banking and Finance, software engineering, Machine Learning and Automation, Eric knows how to bridge knowledge gaps between the technical and non-technical for complex systems. In his early days of computing, he wrote .WAD files for the popular first-person shooter game DOOM and shared them across various bulletin board systems. An accredited senior principal engineer, he has worked in Open Source, security architecture, testing automation, and software development. He also led the refinement of diagnostic protocols for patients who suffer from adrenal disease by championing the addition of adrenal shock to emergency protocols in partnership with Duke University Children's Hospital as a memorial tribute to his son who succumbed to Addisons' Disease in 2009. In more modern times, when not learning the finer points of automation, a la Machine Learning, he is an avid musician who enjoys playing one of his many guitars with his daughter who is an avid violinist.
