2022 Myrtle Beach Post Event Report

June 21, 2022 – Techno Security & Digital Forensics Conference wrapped up its 23rd edition of the flagship Myrtle Beach location last month after four days of education, networking, and exhibits.

The 2022 event was the final edition to be held at the Marriott Grande Dunes at Myrtle Beach as the East Coast event announced a relocation to Wilmington, North Carolina in 2023 due to growth and the need for more exhibit space. It featured 122 sessions led by 113 industry experts under the primary tracks of Audit/Risk Management, Forensics, Investigations, Information Security, Cellebrite Lab, Magnet Forensics Lab, and Sponsor Demos. Panel, single-speaker and hands-on labs covered topics including Artificial Intelligence, Dark Web, Deep Fakes, Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), Cloud Forensics, Data Breaches, Vehicle Forensics, Ransomware, Social Media and Risk Management as well as several new software/technology demonstrations.

In addition, the program featured two Keynotes, The Evolving Threat Landscape in 2022, delivered by Harvey Perriott, Regional Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) Region IV and It’s Not the Tool, But the Examiner That Does the Forensics, delivered by Brett Shavers, Author, Consultant and Forensic Analyst.

The event welcomed 841 verified attendees. Participants came from 39 states, the District of Columbia, and 24 different countries. As expected, international attendees returned in force after being prevented from traveling for two years due to COVID related travel and border restrictions.
