The Georgia Association of Professional Private Investigators, Inc. was founded and incorporated under the laws of the State of Georgia in July, 1996. GAPPI is a self-governing association of Private Investigators and Security Professionals. GAPPI was created to educate members, enforce a code of ethics, and to establish mutual feelings of trust and friendships among its members and other investigative and security agencies throughout Georgia and the United States of America. GAPPI also strives to monitor and educate members about legislative issues that directly affect the investigative and security industry.

The High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA) began in 1984 in Southern California with law enforcement and security personnel. The organization began as a way to discuss the concerns about high technology crime. The mission statement to, “Provide education and collaboration to our global members for the prevention and investigation of high tech crimes” defines the organization. Since its inception, the Atlanta Chapter has focused on providing networking and training opportunities for its members through the chapter’s monthly meetings and additional training seminars.
